Hello,
In order to achieve this you have to create a New Environment Variable in the Environment Variable page in the System Changes section, with the values:
Name: Path
Value: [directory path you need]
Component: [select the component it is related to]
On install: Create or update
Remove on ...

Hello Andreas,
The design does not permit for two checkboxes to have the same property.
A possible workaround is to set two "Set installer property" Published Events on the first checkbox (SSPI_PROP_1) like this:
-Property: SSPI_PROP_2, Argument : [SSPI_PROP_1], Condition: SSPI_PROP_1

Yes, there should be no problem.
Even if your previous version is a 32 - bit installer and your new version is a mixed installer, the update will be made accordingly.

Hi,
If you do not want your custom action to run on removal of the package, you should uncheck the "Uninstall" checkbox in the Execution Stage Condition section.
The Patch condition is correct and you can add it in the "Condition" field.
