Version 3.1 adds a new type of prerequisite handling, improvements in the Organization page, support for editing the Library Path of a Java product, the ability to enforce a single instance with notification and parameter passing on secondary launch attempt, and more. Two new languages (French and Norwegian) were also added.

Version 3.0 adds support for creating MSI packages in other languages. Already included are: German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese and Dutch, while translating additional languages is as easy as editing an XML file. Also new is the support for advertised shortcuts and font registration.

Version 2.6 adds support for creating Windows Installer patches (MSP files), computing file hashes, conditional levels for features and more.

Version 2.5 adds support for creating 64-bit packages, as well as removing files, folders, registry keys and values on install. User defined MSI properties and folders based on properties permit more flexible installation scenarios.

Version 2.4 adds support for searching for applications and resources on the target computer, installing INI files and entries and sharing components between features.

Version 2.3 adds support for installing Internet shortcuts, modifying projects from the command line and logging while running a MSI. The Formatted type editing was improved for easier insertion of file, folder and property references.

Version 2.2 adds support for multiple volume installs and Microsoft Authenticode Digital ID signature. The Custom Action implementation was expanded to include six new types scheduled in any stage of the install sequence.

Version 2.1 adds support for installation folders that are synchronized with disk folders for easier project maintenance, and support for install packages with files not packed in CABs for running programs directly from their install media. Also new are the ability to edit file attributes and to import data sources.

Version 2.0 adds support for .NET and Win32 assemblies and side-by-side installation on Windows XP, enabling multiple versions of the same component to run simultaneously on the system. Further improvements on the User Interface keep Advanced Installer as one of the easiest to use and most powerful Windows Installer authoring tools.

Version 1.9 adds the ability to create installers that will launch any type of file at the end of the installation and the ability to create Uninstall shortcuts and other types of command shortcuts. The prerequisite support is improved with a better UI, silent install and command line support.

Version 1.8 adds the ability to create installers that will check if prerequisite applications are present on the target machine and optionally download and install them. Supported are: Java Runtime Environment, .NET Framework, Visual Basic Script Engine, DirectX and more, together with user-defined applications.

Version 1.7 adds the ability to control in detail the organization of your Windows Installer package by creating and controlling features, selecting the components to be included in each feature and specifying attributes for both features and components. Additionally, this version of Advanced Installer for Java adds the ability to run your Java Application as Win32 Services.

Version 1.5 features the ability to include and install the Windows Installer package, an improved context sensitive help system, and serial code validation for the registration dialog.

Version 1.4 features the ability to change user interface dialogs, banners and images, create EXE bootstrappers, and adds support for merge modules and for installing, registering and controlling services.
