How do I repackage an application from inside a virtual machine?

The following article uses options that are available starting with the Architect edition and project type.

In this how-to, you will run the Repackager from inside a virtual machine and repackage an application on a different virtual machine.

Microsoft Hyper-V

1. Launch your Hyper-V virtual machine running Windows 10
2. Install Advanced Installer on it
3. Enable Hyper-V functionality
4. Create a new virtual machine on the currently running virtual machine
5. In Hyper-V Manager create an external network virtual switch using the Virtual Switch Manager, and make your new virtual machine is using it
6. Both virtual machines must be on the same network
7. Begin the repackaging process on a Hyper-V virtual machine

VMWare Workstation

1. Launch your VMWare virtual machine
2. Install Advanced Installer on it
3. Install VMWare Workstation
4. Create a new virtual machine on the currently running virtual machine
5. Create a network adapter "Bridged: Connected directly to the physical network"
6. Both virtual machines must be on the same network
7. Begin the repackaging process on a VMware virtual machine
